Online meeting guidance

From 1 August 2021 Labour Party meetings may take place in person so far as this complies with current relevant public health guidance, though online meetings will remain an option for all Party Units.

The Labour Party’s priority remains the safety of our members, the NEC therefore strongly recommends mask wearing and social distancing where possible, and that volunteer officers take reasonable steps to ensure members feel safe attending meetings.

The NEC has committed to bringing forward rule changes to Annual Conference 2021 which will make accessible meetings a permanent part of the way the Labour Party organises.  In the meantime, Party Units may continue to meet online and  the materials below will hopefully help you to run effective and secure online meetings and votes.

Microsoft’s video conferencing platform Teams has now been rolled out to CLPs alongside platforms for securely conducting selection ballots. You can find out more about Teams here.

We have also recorded some online sessions to guide CLPs with using Microsoft Teams and online voting

Part 2 – Online CLP meeting show to set up a ballot on Choice Voting

Part 3 – Online CLP meeting show to schedule a meeting on Teams and check the eligibility of your members
