Labour Party Conference 2024 – Important Security Information
What to Expect
In order to gain access to the secure site all attendees will be subject to the accreditation process and applicable search regime. Your full co-operation with police, security staff and stewards will reduce any delays.
There are 2 main entrance gates for attendees to gain access to Conference:
- Monarchs Quay next to the Pullman hotel
- ACC Galleria
On approach to the entrance marquees, you will be approached by Labour Party appointed security and accreditation passes will be checked. If there are any issues with accreditation you will be directed to Conference Services based on Monarchs Quay, otherwise you will be guided towards the entrance point.
When gaining admittance to the entrance marquees your conference pass will be scanned by security staff. Your conference pass must be worn and visible at all times when in the secure zone.
You will then be directed to a bag search table. Please remove outer coats and empty the contents of any bags and pockets into a tray which will then be passed through an x-ray machine. No bags larger than 40 x 30 x 20 cm or luggage will be permitted into site. Attendees residing in hotels in possession of appropriate paperwork will be allowed to bring luggage on to site, these items will need to be screened on entry.
Please be aware there is no bag drop area within the conference site.
Security staff will request that you pass through a walk-through archway detector. If the sensor is activated, you may be subject to a personal search by security.
If any prohibited articles are found in your possession that do not constitute a crime but that are likely to breach Labour Party code of conduct you will be declined access to the site and directed to Conference Services.
If any items are found to constitute a criminal offence Merseyside Police will take responsibility for resolving the issue.
The list of prohibited items can be found here and includes any item that may give cause for concern that the person may wish to disrupt the conference.
If you have any medical condition or physical disability that prevents you from passing through the detector arch you will be directed to a separate area where you will be searched by trained security personnel.
Once you have collected the contents of your bag and pockets you will be able to enter into the Conference site.
To assist with smooth and effective entry to the event please only bring essential items into the site and ensure that you are in possession of a valid accreditation pass. If you have any questions regarding accreditation, please visit Conference Services based on Monarchs Quay near the Pullman Hotel.
