Andy McDonald responds to CAA announcement to suspend Boeing 737 Max aircraft UK airspace

Andy McDonald MP, Labour’s Shadow Transport Secretary, commenting on the Civil Aviation Authority’s decision to suspend Boeing 737 Max aircraft from UK airspace, said:

“Today’s move from the Civil Aviation Authority is a sensible precautionary measure to ensure the safety of UK air passengers following the tragic accident in Ethiopia, and it follows yesterday’s call by Labour’s Shadow Transport Minister in the House of Lords for the government to take immediate action to ground the 737 Max 8s.

“Two incidents within five months involving this particular aircraft is clearly a concern, and we await further information on the flight data recorder.”
