Angela Rayner comments on Education Policy Institute report on school appeals system
Angela Rayner MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, commenting on a new Education Policy Institute report on the school appeals system, said:
“The Tories have broken their promises to parents on school admissions, and it is the most disadvantaged children who are losing out as a result of this failure.
“Instead of investing in our schools the Tories have slashed their budgets and left parents grappling with a system that leaves the most disadvantaged pupils less likely to get into their first choice schools and increases inequality.
“A Labour government will be committed to reforming school admissions, making the system fairer and more consistent, and will invest in creating the good school places we need as part of a National Education Service.”
