At least 7,442 theatre and live events workers have been made redundant – Jo Stevens responds
Jo Stevens MP, Labour’s Shadow Culture Secretary, responding to news from BECTU that at least 7,442 theatre and live events workers have been made redundant as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, said:
“The latest redundancy figures for the theatre industry are devastating news for those affected but also for the industry as a whole.
“Our world-leading cultural sector is in real danger. Sadly Government support has been too little too late and there are many who have been left to fall through the cracks.”
