Beis strike breaking allegations – Rebecca Long Bailey responds

Rebecca Long Bailey MP, Shadow Business Secretary, commenting on PCS’s request that the Met investigate possible illegal use of agency workers at BEIS during a staff strike, said:

“The alleged intention of strike breaking within Government departments is hugely worrying. Not least because UK regulation provides that this is prohibited. What is more worrying however, is that one of the departments at the centre of this controversy is responsible for the enforcement of workers’ rights.

“There must now be an urgent investigation and I stand in full solidarity and support with those workers who are fighting for a living wage and decent conditions.”
