Bridget Phillipson reacts to reports the Chancellor is considering extension to stamp duty holiday
Bridget Phillipson MP, Labour’s Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, reacting to reports that the Chancellor is considering an extension to the stamp duty holiday, said:
“At the same time Rishi Sunak is hitting families with a £2 billion council tax hike, he’s considering another tax giveaway to second homeowners.
“These are the wrong priorities in the middle of the worst economic crisis of any major economy. The Chancellor should be taking action to protect family finances and secure our economy, not hitting them with tax rises while cutting them for landlords.”
