Bus services crisis is having a very serious effect on many communities and individuals – Matt Rodda

Matt Rodda MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Buses, responding to Campaign for Better Transport’s Buses in Crisis Report, said:

“This report shows the full scale of the crisis facing our bus services, which is having a very serious effect on many communities and individuals.

“Campaign for Better Transport provide further proof that the Government doesn’t care about bus users, despite the fact that more bus trips are made than rail trips every day, and bus services are lifelines for many people and communities.

“Labour fully understands the crucial value of bus services to local communities and will back them with greater funding, as well as providing powers for local authorities to franchise and own their buses so public funding is spent effectively on better bus services rather than filling the pockets of private shareholders.”
