Drastic cuts will make diabetes challenge more difficult to overcome – Sharon Hodgson
Sharon Hodgson MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Public Health, responding to warnings from the British Heart Foundation of a rise in diabetes-related illnesses, said:
“The obesity epidemic is one of the starkest public health challenges facing our country, yet the Government has repeatedly ducked and delayed on taking bold action.
“Drastic cuts to public health will only make the diabetes challenge more difficult to overcome.
“Unlike the Tories, Labour will take action to combat the obesity epidemic and keep the nation fit and well for years to come, including banning junk food ads before the watershed and a renewed commitment to investment in child health.”
