EU settlement scheme report and data – Diane Abbott responds
Diane Abbott MP, Labour’s Shadow Home Secretary, commenting on today’s Home Affairs select committee report on the EU settlement scheme, said:

“There are millions of EU citizens in the UK, but by the time of the original Brexit date, not only had a mere fraction of them been registered, but the total number of applications that had been received was still in the low hundreds of thousands.
“Ministers should also listen to this cross-party Home Affairs report’s warning that because of the government’s mismanagement of the scheme, there is another Windrush scandal in the making.”
