Government intervention may have damaged SMEs – Jonathan Reynolds
Jonathan Reynolds MP, Shadow Economic Secretary to the Treasury, commenting on the serious allegations of Treasury Involvement in Royal Bank of Scotland’s Global Restructuring Group, said:
“These are extremely serious allegations. The papers published yesterday reveal the government may have intervened improperly in a way that damaged small businesses and caused widespread misery for both workers and employers.
“This is why we have always said a Public Inquiry into these scandals is essential, alongside reforms to the regulation of SME lending. There is a strong will in Parliament to see this happen – it is only the government who are dragging their feet.”
