Government police pay offer will lead to job losses – Louise Haigh
Louise Haigh MP, Labour’s Shadow Policing Minister, responding to Cressida Dick’s comments on police pay, said:
“The Government’s universally unpopular pay offer to the police is being met with the contempt it deserves. This below-inflation pay deal will continue to eat away at the living standards of our brave police officers, and by forcing the police themselves to pay for it, will inevitably lead to job losses.
“When Ministers praise our police and then cut the real-terms pay of our overstretched officers, is it any wonder many of them have lost trust in this Government?”
