Government’s Inclusive Transport Strategy is hypocritical and completely inadequate

Marsha de Cordova MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Disabled People, commenting on the Government’s publication of its Inclusive Transport Strategy, said:

“This new government dossier is hypocritical and completely inadequate.

“The Tories claim they want to make transport accessible to all, but they’ve slashed investment in making train stations step-free and forced through the expansion of driver-only trains, which leaves disabled passengers unable to use the railways on equal terms.

“The next Labour government will provide the investment and regulation we need across the transport sector to ensure that disabled passengers’ rights and freedoms are respected.”
