The Government’s plan for long term funding doesn’t begin to meet our NHS’ needs – Justin Madders MP

Justin Madders MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Minister, commenting on reports of the Conservatives’ announcement on NHS funding, said:

“If reports are correct, the Government’s plan for long term funding doesn’t begin to meet our NHS’ needs.

“The Tories won’t match Labour’s costed plan to put nearly £9bn into health and social care in the first year of this Parliament, and £45bn over the course of a Parliament, because they refuse to stand up to vested interests and demand the bankers, tax dodgers, big corporations and top five per cent of earners pay a little bit more to fund our public services.”
