Government’s promise to help children learn remotely is falling woefully short – Wes Streeting
Wes Streeting MP, Labour’s Shadow Schools Minister, responding to reports that the number of schools where all pupils have a laptop has barely increased in 10 months, said:
“Time and time again throughout this pandemic the government has failed to meet its promises.
“Children trying to learn remotely are being priced out of education and the government’s promise to deliver devices is falling woefully short. Labour’s Every Child Online campaign is calling for urgent action to get a device to every child who needs one.
“Ten months into this pandemic and a week into this third national lockdown ‘coming soon’ is just not good enough.”
