Government’s record on delivery of garden villages has been woeful – Roberta Blackman-Woods
Roberta Blackman-Woods MP, Shadow Planning Minister, responding to the announcement that 23 new garden cities will be built across England by 2050, said:
“The Government’s record on delivery of garden villages has been woeful, plagued by poor planning and risks burying more of our greenfield sites under concrete.
“In addition to their track record of failure in delivering garden cities, the Tories also urgently need to address the housing crisis facing the country.
“A Labour Government will work with communities to develop the resources that they need; and will adopt a brownfield first policy for new developments, recognising the need for green and open spaces.”
