Jo Stevens responds to the launch of negotiations on the future cost of the TV licence
Jo Stevens MP, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Digital, Culture Media and Sport, responding to the launch of negotiations on the future cost of the TV licence, said:
“The government cannot continue to pass the buck.
“Tory cuts have already led to job losses and programme changes as well as axing the free TV licence for the over-75s.
“But the licence fee payer should not be penalised for the government’s poor decisions. The pandemic has highlighted the value of good quality public service broadcasting.”
