John McDonnell restates Labour’s call for an independent inquiry into banking corruption amid reports of protests

John McDonnell MP, Labour’s Shadow Chancellor, has restated Labour’s call for an independent inquiry into banking corruption following reports that UK banks face a week of hunger strikes and protests.

Mr McDonnell said: “There is understandable anger from many of those who have been ripped off by our banks and even more evidence to support Labour’s call for an independent inquiry into corruption and malpractice in our banks and financial services.”
