Labour comments on emails that show firm with ties to Hancock was fast-tracked for testing contracts
Angela Rayner MP, Labour’s Deputy Leader and Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, commenting on emails that show firm with ties to Hancock was fast-tracked for testing contracts, said:
“This is yet more evidence that we can’t trust a word that Conservative Ministers say. They denied there was a fast-track VIP lane for PPE contracts but the Government has been found to have lied about that and broken the law.
“This could be an even bigger scandal than the PPE fast-track lane if it turns out that mates of Tory Ministers have been at the front of the queue for the £37 billion of taxpayers’ money set aside for Test and Trace.
“We need a fully independent investigation into the VIP fast-track for testing contracts and the publication of all correspondence and contracts, showing who got them, how and why as well as any connections they have to Conservative Ministers and the Conservative Party.”
