Labour conference proves it is the Party of the many
Labour is once again proving it is the Party of the many as it prepares to welcome up to 13,000 people to its Annual Conference in Liverpool.
The number of member and voting delegates is up, as are delegates to Women’s Conference on Saturday.
The number of voting delegates has increased by 50% since Labour was last in Liverpool just two years ago.
The exhibition area will grow to 165 stands, with a new Small Business Zone and 40 exhibitors in the Third Sector Zone.
There will be more than 500 fringe events, ranging from breakfast briefings, to discussions led by policy experts and major media outlets.
Labour will host a rally with music and speeches open for all to attend on the Saturday evening. And the conference will again be complemented by a comprehensive fringe programme at The World Transformed in venues across the city.
Labour’s General Secretary Jennie Formby said:
“The size and diversity of our Annual Conference reflect the vibrancy of our growing membership of more than half a million people.
“This year in Liverpool we will be outlining our plan to rebuild our communities, properly invest in our public services and transform our society so it works for the many, not just a privileged few.”
