Labour responds to report showing working-age adults in poorest areas more than three times as likely to die from Covid
Alex Norris MP, Labour’s Shadow Public Health Minister, commenting on a report from the Health Foundation showing working-age adults in England’s poorest areas are more than three times as likely to die with coronavirus, said:
“Years of Tory cuts deepened avoidable inequalities, leaving communities especially vulnerable when the pandemic hit. This has had tragic consequences.
“It’s now urgent an overarching strategy is put in place to tackle health inequalities and support people to live healthier, happier, longer lives.”
