Nia Griffith comment on reports that Army boss Lieutenant-General Sir Mark Mans joined Capita after it won ‘disastrous’ army recruitment deal
Nia Griffith MP, Labour’s Shadow Defence Secretary, commenting on reports in The Times that Army boss Lieutenant-General Sir Mark Mans joined Capita after it won ‘disastrous’ army recruitment deal, said:
“It beggars belief that someone who was in charge of personnel policy has gone on to advise the very company that is letting down our personnel by failing to do its job of managing army recruitment.
“This is just the latest example of the revolving door between the government and lucrative public contracts. It is clear that the scrutiny system is not fit for purpose.”
“Capita has completely failed to deliver their recruitment contract to an adequate standard. With army numbers falling year after year, it is time to scrap this bad deal and bring the service back in house.”
