Pat McFadden comments on calls from Which? for the Government to bring forward legislation to protect access to cash
Pat McFadden MP, Labour’s Shadow Economic Secretary to the Treasury, commenting on calls from Which? for the Government to bring forward legislation to protect access to cash, said:
“The warnings on this are becoming louder and the Government should heed them.
“The present disorganised retreat from cash threatens to leave those reliant on it as a means of payment without free to use access to cash.
“It’s now a year since the Government promise legislation on this issue and the need has become more urgent since then. It is time the Treasury brought forward its proposals to protect access to the cash network.”
