PSA calls for Priti Patel to heal rift between government and police – Louise Haigh responds
Commenting on the Police Superintendent’s Association’s call for Priti Patel to heal the rift between government and police, Shadow Minister for Policing, Louise Haigh said:
“How can Tories be expected to heal the relationship when the Prime Minister himself deceived the police by knowingly using officers for a nakedly party political stunt, without their prior knowledge? Boris Johnson is still yet to apologise.
“This is the latest insult after nine years of cuts, leading to the loss of tens of thousands of police officers from our streets and soaring levels of violent crime.
“A Labour Government will rebuild trust with the police and put thousands of officers back on our streets and keep our communities safe.”
