Rebecca Long-Bailey responds to jobs losses at Jaguar Land Rover
Rebecca Long-Bailey MP, Labour’s Shadow Business Secretary, responding to reports of jobs losses at Jaguar Land Rover, said:
“The news of one thousand potential job losses at Jaguar Land Rover is deeply concerning for workers, their families and their communities.
“We urge the company to stand ready to work with the unions and for the Government to be prepared to assist the workforce in whatever way is necessary.
“If the worst happens and workers lose their jobs then the Government only has itself to blame. The Tories’ woeful stewardship of the economy has hurt the automotive industry. Their policies on diesel cars have confused the public and their chaotic approach to Brexit has led to tremendous uncertainty.
“This is why we need a Labour government with a proper industrial strategy and a jobs first approach to Brexit.”
