Taxpayers may face more compensation bills in the millions over Chris Grayling failures – Andy McDonald
Andy McDonald MP, Shadow Transport Secretary, commenting on the news that P&O is taking legal action against the Department for Transport over failings in the procurement of cross-channel ferry contracts and an agreement reached with Eurotunnel, said:
“I warned Chris Grayling in the House of Commons on March 5th that his settlement with Eurotunnel ran the risk of future satellite litigation from other companies. He ignored my warnings and taxpayers may yet face more compensation bills in the millions or tens of millions.
“This is yet another disastrous misjudgement from this Transport Secretary. The country cannot afford Chris Grayling.”
