“Their policy is just a watered-down version of Labour’s Offshore Company Property Levy” Reynold’s comments on the Conservatives’ stamp duty announcement

Jonathan Reynolds, Labour’s Shadow City Minister, commenting on the Conservatives’ stamp duty announcement, said:

“The Tories already announced this in 2018 and their policy is just a watered-down version of Labour’s Offshore Company Property Levy.

“It’s clear the Tories are worrying about the popularity of Labour’s ideas – but the fact they’re forced to copy them shows their complete lack of vision for this country.

“A Labour Government will enact an Offshore Company Property Levy that is far bolder than this surcharge, and we’ll release the full details of this when our Fair Tax Programme is published in full in the coming days.”
