The victims of terror atrocities are being badly let down – Barbara Keeley
Barbara Keeley MP, Labour’s Shadow Cabinet Minister for Mental Health, responding to news today that victims of terrorist attacks are being let down in their mental health care, said:
“The victims of terror atrocities are being badly let down by underfunded and overstretched mental health services, just when they most need that help.
“The Prime Minister pledged to tackle the burning injustice of mental ill health, but when parts of the country face four-month waits to access basic talking therapies, it is little wonder that people with severe trauma are facing even longer waits for vital treatment.
“The message to Downing Street is loud and clear: fund mental health services properly, and ring-fence budgets as Labour pledged to do at the last election, to ensure that money reaches the front line.”
