Wayne David responds to Israel and Bahrain’s normalisation agreement
Wayne David MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, responding to the normalisation agreement signed between Israel and Bahrain, said:
“The agreement between Israel and Bahrain is an important step forward in achieving stability in the Middle East. In order to achieve lasting peace in the region, Israel must now confirm the full and complete withdrawal of plans for the annexation of large parts of the West Bank.
“These proposals are against international law and have rightly been condemned by the international community.
“The Labour Party firmly believes that every possible effort should now be made to resume negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians. The goal must be a negotiated two-state solution – the only way to secure a meaningful and long-lasting peace.”
