Yet another example of the hostile environment created for disabled people by this Government – Marsha De Cordova
Marsha De Cordova MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Disabled People, responding to the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) quarterly statistics released today, said:
“These figures are yet another example of the hostile environment created for disabled people by this Government.
“For many disabled people PIP has become a vehicle for cuts to their social security support. That almost one-quarter of those moving from DLA to PIP receive nothing at all is shocking.
“Cruel and inaccurate PIP assessments are clearly failing to provide disabled people with the social security they need.
“Labour will introduce a personalised and holistic assessment framework that treats disabled people with dignity and respect.”
