Bev Craig Chosen as Labour’s Candidate – Greater Manchester Mayoral By-Election

Back Bev Craig for Mayor of Greater Manchester – get involved today

Greater Manchester has a chance to choose its next Mayor on Thursday 30 July — and Labour’s candidate Bev Craig is ready to deliver the next chapter for the region.

Too many people across Greater Manchester work hard and do the right thing, yet life still feels too hard and unaffordable. That has to change.

Labour’s candidate is Bev Craig. Growing up on a council estate, Bev came to Manchester at 18 and worked her way up. She didn’t have money or connections – and it was Greater Manchester that gave her the opportunities that transformed her life. After 15 years in local government, she’s clear about what she wants to deliver next and determined that everyone has those same opportunities.

“I will work every day for us to make sure everyone shares in the success Greater Manchester is building — making sure there’s more money in people’s pockets, pride in every town centre with a New High Streets Fund, a new generation of council and affordable homes and an expanded Bee Network that freezes fares and that works for all of us.”

As Leader of Manchester City Council, Bev has delivered the highest level of council and affordable housebuilding in a generation, reduced homelessness while it has risen elsewhere, and secured an Outstanding Ofsted rating for Children’s Services. She has driven an economic strategy that delivered the highest levels of growth in the country and reduced deprivation in inner Manchester. Join the Labour team in Greater Manchester and help deliver a Mayor who will fight for every community. To find out more and get involved, visit bevformayor.co.uk!
