Role description: CLP Campaign Co-ordinator

CLP Campaign Co-ordinator

Lead the delivery of campaigning activity and help build a strong, organised campaign team.

As CLP Campaign Co-ordinator, you play a central role in organising and delivering campaigning activity across your constituency and beyond. You help turn plans into action — building teams, coordinating activity and ensuring your CLP campaigns effectively in the community and supports wider Party priorities.

This role suits someone who is organised, reliable and able to motivate others, and who wants to play a hands-on role in helping Labour win.

What success looks like

A strong Campaign Co-ordinator helps create a local party that is:

  • Active – regular, visible campaigning in the community
  • Organised – activity is planned, coordinated and delivered effectively
  • Growing – more members and supporters are involved in campaigning
  • Effective – campaign effort is focused where it will have the most impact

What you’ll do

Lead campaign delivery

  • Develop and help deliver a campaign plan across election cycles
  • Coordinate campaigning activity, ensuring it is regular and well organised
  • Work with candidates, officers and volunteers to deliver activity
  • Ensure campaigning is focused, consistent and aligned with local priorities and wider Party objectives
  • Support campaigning activity both within your CLP and, where appropriate, in neighbouring or priority seats

Build and support a campaign team

  • Recruit, organise and support volunteers and activists
  • Identify skills and interests and help people get involved
  • Encourage training and development for campaigners and organisers
  • Create clear roles within the campaign to share responsibility

Coordinate campaigning across the CLP and beyond

  • Work with officers leading on campaigning and membership to align plans and activity
  • Support branches to deliver local campaigning and build capacity
  • Share information, priorities and opportunities across the CLP
  • Work with neighbouring CLPs where activity is coordinated or shared, or with your twinned seat if relevant
  • Help ensure campaigning is focused where it will have the greatest impact

Work with Party staff and structures

  • Work closely with Party staff to support delivery of campaign plans
  • Engage with your regional office, or Scottish or Welsh Labour, to align with campaign priorities and access support
  • Help ensure your CLP is connected to wider campaign activity and opportunities

Use campaign tools and data

  • Support the use of Contact Creator, Organise and other campaign tools
  • Help ensure data is collected, recorded and used effectively
  • Promote good practice in campaign organisation and delivery

How you’ll work with others

You’ll work closely with officers and members to deliver effective campaigns.

  • CLP Chair – provides overall leadership and direction
  • CLP Secretary – supports communication and coordination
  • CLP Vice Chair (Campaigns & Membership) – works with you to align campaigning and membership activity

  • Branch officers and ward organisers – help deliver campaigning locally
  • Candidates and elected representatives – work together to deliver winning campaigns
  • Party staff and regional structures – provide guidance, coordination and campaign support

Top tips to get you started

  • Focus on delivery – regular activity matters more than perfect plans
  • Build a team early – don’t try to do everything yourself
  • Keep things organised – clear roles and plans make a big difference
  • Communicate regularly – keep people informed and involved
  • Stay flexible – adapt plans as you learn what works
