David Lammy responds to air strike on Houthi-run prison in Yemen
David Lammy MP, Labour’s Shadow Foreign Secretary, responding to reports of an air strike killing scores of people after it struck a Houthi-run prison in Yemen, said:
“This is horrific. Houthi aggression should be rightly condemned, but there can be no defence for air strikes that have caused such high numbers of civilian casualties.
“Labour would end Britain’s military support for this bombing campaign.
“Yemenis face a humanitarian catastrophe. As the lead for Yemen at the UN Security Council, Britain has a special responsibility to support the peace process.”
