Jim McMahon comments on the Government’s climate change risk assessment
Jim McMahon MP, Labour’s Shadow Environment Secretary, commenting on the government’s climate change risk assessment published today, said:
“After more than a decade in power the Conservatives have failed to build the efficient homes, strengthened flood defences, and resilient natural habitats necessary to tackle the climate crisis.
“Their lack of action and empty promises are putting people, nature, and our economy at risk.
“Labour has pledged a net zero and nature test for all government spending, investing £28 billion a year until 2030 to meet the challenge of the climate and nature emergency head on, creating good jobs for communities, ensuring national security and prosperity, and providing leadership to seize opportunities for the UK.”
