Nick Thomas-Symonds comments on UK-South Australia agreement
Nick Thomas-Symonds MP, Labour’s Shadow International Trade Secretary, commenting on the announcement of a state-level agreement between the UK and South Australia, said:
“Ministers made several promises in the negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement with Australia that failed to materialise, from climate commitments to our UK agricultural sector. As the Prime Minister is occupied this weekend with saving his political career, Labour will act in the national interest and scrutinise the details of this new agreement with South Australia.
“This deal must support prosperity and security for British jobs and businesses with UK exporters given the necessary tools to take advantage of new opportunities.”
