Report supports Labour’s demands to break up the Big Four – Rebecca Long Bailey
Rebecca Long Bailey MP, Labour’s Shadow Business Secretary, responding to calls by the BEIS Committee to break up the Big Four accountancy firms, said:
“Today’s report supports our demands to break up the big four who have a stranglehold on the auditing sector.
“Successful audits are vital for businesses to thrive; however, the government has failed in tackling the shortcomings of the audit sector, leaving businesses and workers exposed.
“Under Labour, the big four firms will not be allowed to continue to act like a cartel, driving down standards, damaging the wider economy and our business community.”
