Delegate Information

Applications

The closing date for applications from Affiliate delegates is noon on Wednesday 31 July 2024.

Please note, deadlines for Affiliate delegate applications will be strictly adhered to. Late applications will not be accepted.

Change of Delegate

In the event that your elected delegate cannot attend Women’s Conference, you can apply to the Women’s Conference Arrangements Committee (WCAC) for permission to send an alternative delegate.

Please contact the WCAC via [email protected] explaining the circumstances preventing your elected delegate from attending.

Changes to delegates will only be accepted in extenuating circumstances.

Delegate Accessibility Requirements

Applicants with accessibility requirements should indicate this in the space provided on their application form so that any appropriate arrangements can be made.

We will endeavour to make this event as accessible as possible.

Motions

Since 2017, Women’s Conference has a formal role in the Labour Party’s policy process and will vote to send 2 motions to Annual Conference.

All policy motions must be submitted to the party by noon on Wednesday 21 August 2024. Any submitted after this will not be considered.

To be accepted by the WCAC motions must meet the following requirements.

  • Must be an issue that has arisen after the Friday 5 July 2024
  • On one subject
  • No more than 250 words in length
  • Not considered by the CAC as an organisational matter or constitutional amendment

With this cycle of the NPF concluded and elections to the National Policy Forum taking place over the summer, a new NPF will take its place for Conference 2024 ready to commence the next cycle of the National Policy Forum.

The NEC has agreed that all issues pre-dating the General Election are not contemporary and therefore only motions referring to matters that have arisen after the 05 July 2024 will be ruled in order.

All motions that are accepted by the WCAC will be divided into subject areas and submitted to the Priorities Ballot prior to National Annual Women’s Conference 2024.

It is also possible to submit rule changes, following the guidance above.
