Please see the details of each position being elected below as well as the relevant timetable.

To put your name forward and submit a statement for any of these positions or submit a nomination on behalf of a CLP or affiliated organisation please submit via the Party’s Democracy Portal.

Please note that only CLP Secretaries or Chairs will be able to submit a nomination on behalf of their CLP or relevant equalities branch.

National Executive Committee (NEC)

CLP Representatives (Division III)

There are nine positions to be elected in this section

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least five CLPs.
  • elected by all eligible members conducted as a Single Transferable Vote.
  • 2 year term.
Treasurer

One position to be elected

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by five CLPs and one affiliated trade union
  • Elected by an electoral college of 50% OMOV of all eligible members and 50% of affiliated trade unions.
  • 2 year term.
NEC Local Government Representatives (Division IV)
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must be a member of the Association of Labour Councillors.
  • nominated by at least 5 Labour groups. Groups must have 3 or more members.
  • elected by all eligible members of the Association of Labour Councillors.
  • 2 year term.
NEC PLP Representatives (Division V)
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must be a member of the Parliamentary Labour Party
  • elected by all eligible members of the Parliamentary Labour Party
  • 2 year term.
NEC Youth Representative
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must be under the age of 27 before 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • nominated by at least five Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist) or one affiliated organisation.
  • elected by all eligible members under the age of 27 before 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term.
NEC Disabled Members Representative
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must have self-identified as disabled with the party by 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • nominated by at least FIVE disabled members branches/CLPs (where a disabled members branch doesn’t exist) or one affiliated organisation.
  • elected by all eligible members who have self-identified as disabled with the Party by 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term.
NEC BAME Members Representative
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must have self-identified as BAME with the party by 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • nominated by at least FIVE BAME branches/CLPs (where a disabled members branch doesn’t exist) or one affiliated organisation.
  • elected by all eligible members who have self-identified as BAME with the party before 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term.
NEC Welsh Representative
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least five welsh CLPs or affiliated organisations.
  • elected by all eligible members and affiliated supporters residing in Wales before 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term.

Conference Arrangements Committee (CAC)

The CAC is responsible for running our Annual Conference. The committee meets throughout the year ensuring that Annual Conference not only meets its constitutional requirements but is also an enjoyable and welcoming event for all.
This summer all members of the committee are to be elected and will serve a term of two years from October 2021. The details of each position can be found below.

CAC Disabled Members Representative

There is one position to be elected in this section

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must have self-defined as disabled with the Party by 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • nominated by at least five CLPs/Disabled Members Branches or one affiliated organisation.
  • elected by all delegates to Conference.
  • 2 year term.

National Constitutional Committee (NCC)

The NCC oversees the disciplinary process within the party, determining cases put to them by the NEC. This important committee is made up of 25 members in total that is split into three sections. This year three members of the CLP section and four members of the trade union section are to be elected

NCC CLP Section (Div III)

There are three members to be elected to this section

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least 5 CLPs.
  • elected by CLP delegates to Annual Conference 2022.
  • 3 year term.
NCC Trade Union Section (Div I)

There are four members to be elected to this section, at least three must be women.

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least one affiliated trade union. All other submissions will be treated as supporting nominations.
  • elected by trade union delegates to Annual Conference 2022
  • 3 year term

Young Labour National Committee

All positions on the Young Labour National Committee are to be elected by members under the age of 27 to the Young Labour National Committee. All candidates wishing to stand must be under the age of 27 before Friday 17 June 2022 apart from the under 18’s officer who must be under the age of 18 before the same date.

Young Labour National Committee – Chair
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership
  • nominated by at least five Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist)
  • Elected by all eligible members of the Party who are under the age of 27 before Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term
Young Labour National Committee – International Officer
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least five Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist)
  • Elected by all eligible members under the age of 27 by Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term
Young Labour National Committee – BAME Officer
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must have self-identified as BAME with the party by 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • nominated by at least five Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist)
  • Elected by all eligible members under the age of 27 who have self-identified as BAME with the party by Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term
Young Labour National Committee – Women’s Officer
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • have self-identified as a woman.
  • nominated by at least five Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist)
  • elected by all women members who are under the age of 27 before Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term.
Young Labour National Committee – LGBT+ Officer
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must self-identify as LGBT+
  • nominated by at least five Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist)
  • elected by all eligible members who are under the age of 27 before Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term
Young Labour National Committee – Disabled Members Officer
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must have self-identified as disabled with the party by 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022.
  • nominated by at least five Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist)
  • Elected by all eligible members under the age of 27 who have self-identified as Disabled via the Party’s equality monitoring form with the party by Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term
Young Labour National Committee – Regional Representatives
  • one elected from each region of England.
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least three Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist) within the relevant region.
  • Elected by all eligible members who are under the age of 27 before Friday 17 June 2022 who reside within the relevant region.
  • 2 year term

The following Regional Representative positions are reserved for women candidates only.

North, North West, South West.

Young Labour National Committee – Scottish Representative
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least three Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist) within Scotland.
  • Elected by all eligible Scottish members who are under the age of 27 before Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term
  • This position is reserved for women candidates only.
Young Labour National Committee – Welsh Representative
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least three Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist) within Wales.
  • Elected by all eligible Welsh members who are under the age of 27 before Friday 17 June 2022.
  • 2 year term
  • This position is reserved for women candidates only.
Young Labour Trade Union Representatives
  • 10 to be elected
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • Nominated by at least one affiliated trade union. All other submissions will be treated as supporting nominations.
  • Elected by all trade unions affiliated to the Party as of the 31 December 2021.
  • 2 year term
Young Labour Socialist Societies Representative
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • Nominated by at least one Socialist Society. All other submissions will be treated as supporting nominations.
  • Elected by all Socialist Societies affiliated to the Party as of the 31 December 2021.
  • 2 year term
Young Labour under 18’s Representative
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must be under the age of 18 before Friday 17 June 2022
  • nominated by at least FIVE Young Labour Branches/CLPs (where a Young Labour Branch doesn’t exist)
  • Elected by all eligible members who are under the age of 18 before Friday 17 June 2022
  • 2 year term

National Labour Students Committee

National Chair of Labour Students
  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • must be a verified student member of the Party before 23.59, Friday 17 June 2022

National Policy Forum

NPF CLP Representatives (Div I)

55 elected, five shall be elected from Scotland, Wales and the English Regions. One shall be reserved for a Young Labour member with two of the remaining four reserved for women.

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least three CLPs within the relevant region or nation.
  • elected by all members of the Party from within the relevant region or nation.
  • 2 year term
NPF Trade Union Representatives (Div II)

55 elected, at least 27 women.

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least one affiliated trade union. All other submissions will be treated as supporting nominations.
  • elected by all trade unions affiliated to the Party as of the 31 December 2021.
  • 2 year term
NPF Local Government Representatives (Div IV)

Ten. Four each to be elected by the Local Government Association Labour group and the Association of Labour Councillors, at least two each of whom shall be women; and one representative of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities Labour group and one from the Welsh Local Government Association Labour Group.

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least five Labour Groups consisting of at least 3 or more members. All other submissions will be treated as supporting nominations.
  • four chosen from amongst the Local Government Association Labour group and four elected amongst all ALC members.
  • 2 year term
NPF Socialist Society Representatives (Div V)

Six elected, at least 3 women

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • nominated by at least one affiliated socialist society. All other submissions will be treated as supporting nominations.
  • elected by all socialist societies affiliated to the Party as of the 31 December 2021.
  • 2 year term
NPF PLP Representatives (Div VI)

Nine elected, at least four women

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • elected by all Commons members of the Parliamentary Labour Party.
  • 2 year term.
NPF House of Lords Representatives (Div XIV)

Two elected, at least one woman

  • must have at least 12 months continuous membership.
  • elected by all Labour peers.
