Our high streets have been through a gruelling year because of the pandemic.

But the Conservatives have made it even tougher. They have changed planning laws and failed to reform the broken business rates system. Now, our high streets face even more challenging times ahead.

We need urgent action to protect jobs and communities in our town centres. Labour is determined to deliver a bright future for our high streets.

We’re launching a ‘Rebuilding Our High Streets’ Commission to help make your town or city the best place to grow up and grow old in.

We want to hear your views. Together we can make our high streets places we can be proud of and where communities can come together.

Let us know your views using the boxes below by 31st July. We have included a number of questions to help you to frame your responses.

  • Helping high streets thrive in the future
  • Bringing our high streets back to life
  • Levelling the playing field
  • High streets as centres of innovation for local communities
