Kate Green comments on result of vote on Labour’s Opposition Day motion on the exams fiasco

Kate Green MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, commenting on the result of the vote on Labour’s Opposition Day motion calling for the publication of all documents relating to the exams fiasco, said:

“It is a sign of the Prime Minister and Education Secretary’s serial incompetence that they are now running scared from transparency and scrutiny.

“Having failed young people and their families once with their shambolic handling of exams, they have now failed to be honest and transparent about their mistakes so that we can ensure they are not repeated.

“There is still time for the Government to admit the mistakes they made, and set out a clear plan to ensure that this fiasco does not happen again.”
