Kate Green responds to Children’s Commissioner comments on Government failing vulnerable children
Kate Green MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, responding to the Children’s Commissioner’s comments on the Government failing vulnerable children, said:
“The Government have treated children as an afterthought throughout this pandemic with no plan to protect their education, wellbeing or futures.
“Children must be at the centre of efforts to rebuild our country after this pandemic. That must start with a credible plan, including mass testing, nightingale classrooms and vaccination of school staff, to get all children back to school as soon as possible, cancelling the cut to Universal Credit and providing free school meals across all holidays during the pandemic.”
