Sue Hayman responds to suggestions of food rationing for No Deal Brexit
Sue Hayman MP, Labour’s Shadow Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Secretary, responding to suggestions of food rationing in a No Deal Brexit, said:
“Even though manufacturers and farmers have been sounding the alarm about No Deal’s risks to food security, the government still has no proper plan to ensure food continues to reach our shelves.
“The party that has brought pain and misery to over a million people forced to turn to food banks now could introduce rationing. It is difficult to conceive of how Johnson’s government could place our country in a worse situation. The urgency for a General Election couldn’t be more clear in order to avert a disastrous Conservative No Deal Brexit.’
