Youth services guidance review announced – Cat Smith responds
Cat Smith MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Youth Affairs, commenting on the planned government review of guidance on how councils should secure services for young people, said:
“We’re glad the review we’ve been calling for will now take place, but the Government is still ignoring our questions about how they will fund services for young people.
“Youth services are the glue that hold our communities together. Yet after nine years of austerity, councils are on their knees, unable to provide young people with the support they need.
“Labour in Government will introduce new legislation that will guarantee quality youth services for all of our young people and give our councils the funding they need to invest in our public services.”
