Angela Rayner responds to reports Conservatives’ chair said party funds were not being used to pay for the Downing Street flat refurb
Angela Rayner MP, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, responding to reports Conservative Party chair Amanda Milling said party funds were not being used to pay for the Downing Street flat refurbishment, said:
“Amanda Milling needs to come clean. No more cover ups, no more prevarication.
“She must immediately answer these very simple questions. Where did the money come from to pay for the refurbishment of Boris Johnson’s flat? Were donations funnelled through Conservative Party coffers in an effort to hide their source? Why were any such donations not declared to the Electoral Commission, in breach of the laws governing donations?
“The Chair of the Conservative Party needs to stop covering for the Prime Minister. Tell us who paid for the Prime Minister’s flat, and release all correspondence on this matter between the Conservative Party, Downing Street and the Cabinet Office.”
