Boris Johnson’s refusal to apologise for his homophobia confirms his deep dislike for minorities

Lloyd Russell-Moyle, Labour’s candidate for Brighton Kemptown, responding to Boris Johnson’s refusal to apologise for his homophobic comments, said:

“Boris Johnson’s refusal to apologise for his history of homophobia confirms that he harbours a deep dislike for minorities, whether that is LGBT+ people, single mothers, black people, Muslims or others.

“It comes to something when it is no surprise that the Prime Minister cannot even bring himself to say sorry for calling gay men ‘tank-topped bumboys’. It underlines even more why we need a Labour government that will replace this hatred with compassion, hope and real change, and one that will be on the side of LGBT+ people.”
