Carolyn Harris comments on reports that county lines are worth over £3 million a day
Carolyn Harris, Shadow Home Affairs Minister, commenting on Sky News reports that county lines are worth over £3 million a day, said:
“The current surge in serious violence is a textbook definition of a whole-system failure. With as many as 70,000 young people feared to be part of a gang network, too many lives are being wasted, too many families destroyed, and too many communities devastated.
“The Tories cannot begin to claim they are addressing issues like county lines when they have delivered such devastating cuts to police numbers and continue to underfund social and community work.”
