“Human suffering is not an opportunity for making business deals” – Dan Carden
Dan Carden MP, Labour’s Shadow International Development Secretary, responding to Alok Sharma’s remarks that humanitarian aid can be used to open up UK trading opportunities, said:
“The new Secretary of State in charge of this country’s aid budget has clearly failed to understand the purpose of humanitarian aid.
“Human suffering is not an opportunity for making business deals.
“Labour will always defend humanitarian principles of independence, neutrality and impartiality.”
