Jeremy Corbyn meets 16-year old climate activist Greta Thunberg

Speaking after the meeting, Leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn MP said:

“I’d like to thank the youth climate strikers and Greta Thunberg for highlighting how concerned they are about climate change. It’s younger generations who will experience the worst of it.

“Labour will continue conversations with youth climate strikers and other parties on how we can tackle climate change. Labour will support and engage with youth climate actions in towns and cities across the UK.

“We have also committed to seeking a common framework to ensure that all our policies are stress tested against their environmental impact.

“Labour has the plans and funding in place to invest in renewable industries, reduce our carbon emissions and bring well paid and skilled jobs to towns and cities across the UK. Nothing less than a Green Industrial Revolution will do.”
