Jess Phillips responds to Robert Jenrick’s comments on funding for refuges
Jess Phillips MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Domestic Violence and Safeguarding, responding to Robert Jenrick’s comments on funding for refuges, said:
“The government’s failure to support victims of domestic violence means more women and children are either turned away or housed in unsafe unsupported accommodation everyday than can actually get a refuge bed.
“£125 million for tens of thousands of abused women and children but £283 million for a boat that not even the Queen wants. The government’s priorities are pretty clear.”
