‘Johnson’s Conservatives are deliberately ignoring the racism that infects their party’ – Naz Shah
Responding to Baroness Sayeeda Warsi’s interview on The World at One, Naz Shah, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities, said:
“Sayeeda Warsi is right to tell Boris Johnson to ‘think about his words’ and their impact on Muslim communities as well as other minorities. It was deeply upsetting to hear her talk about senior Conservatives who know speaking out about racism will end their political careers and her comments about Michael Gove are shocking and extremely serious.
“Boris Johnson’s Conservatives are deliberately ignoring the racism that infects their party from top to bottom, because dealing with it would mean acknowledging the Prime Minister’s guilt and the discriminatory impact of their policies in government.”
